CSEET Pass Percentage 2026: ICSI Results by Session and How to Beat the Average

The CSEET pass percentage 2026 for the June session was 67.59%, declared on 15 July 2026. The October 2026 figure is not yet published, and June 2026 began a new centre-based format.

By Naveen J D, Founder · Updated 29 Oct 2026

Key takeaways

  • About two in three candidates passed in June 2026 (67.59%), according to ICSI's result release of 15 July 2026.
  • To pass you need 40 out of 100 in each of four papers and 200 out of 400 in total, in one sitting. One weak paper fails you whatever your total.
  • June 2026 began a new format, so compare it with earlier sessions only loosely.
  • A pass percentage averages every candidate, so what decides your own result is your weakest paper, not the average.

A pass percentage is an average across everyone who sat the test, including candidates who barely prepared. It says nothing about the single paper that can fail you. CSEET is the Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test, run by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI).

Since June 2026 the figures are also harder to read. CSEET moved from a multiple-choice test taken at home to a centre-based test with written papers, so the newest number and the older ones measure slightly different exams.

Below are the session figures, the pass rule, a check you can run on your own mock scores, and how we help students beat the average.

CSEET pass percentage at a glance

The CSEET pass percentage for June 2026 was 67.59%, so roughly two in three candidates cleared the test. ICSI declared the result on 15 July 2026, according to TaxGuru's copy of the ICSI release. The October 2026 pass percentage has not been published.

The October session dates come from TaxGuru's copy of the ICSI release linked above. ICSI's announcement on the restructured CSEET says October-session results are declared by the last week of November, and Careers360 expects them in mid-November. The new-format description follows the same ICSI announcement.

CSEET pass percentage session by session

The table below lists the CSEET pass percentage for every session from January 2023 to June 2026. June 2026 was the first session in the new centre-based format, so it sits above the line and the earlier sessions below it.

November 202362.44%
July 202369.73%
May 202362.37%
January 202367.73%

Across these sessions the lowest figure was 55.81% (January 2024) and the highest 80.05% (January 2026). Simple averages of the session figures, not weighted by how many candidates sat: 65.6% for 2023, 65.3% for 2024, 74.8% for 2025 and 69.4% across all 13 older sessions. Every one of these was a remote-proctored multiple-choice sitting, so June 2026 is the first figure from a different test.

Last checked: 29 October 2026. The June 2026 figure is from ICSI's press release as reproduced by TaxGuru. Earlier figures are the pass percentages ICSI published for each session, as listed in Careers360's pass percentage table.

CSEET passing marks: what counts as a pass

CSEET passing marks are 40 out of 100 in each of the four papers and 200 out of 400 in aggregate, both in the same sitting. ICSI's announcement on the restructured CSEET and our four-paper CSEET syllabus page set this out, and the syllabus page also lists what each paper tests.

The trap is that the two conditions are separate. A high total does not rescue a paper below 40. Run these tests on any mock result:

  1. 1
    Paper test
Is every paper 40 or more? If any is below 40, you fail, whatever the total.
  2. 2
    Total test
Do the four papers add up to 200 or more? If not, you fail.
  3. 3
    Cushion (our recommendation)

Is your lowest paper at least [X] marks above 40? If not, treat it as at risk.

Candidate A scores 46 marks more than Candidate B and still fails.

Why CSEET pass percentages change between sessions

Our inference: CSEET pass percentages change between sessions because the question papers, the mix of candidates and, from June 2026, the format all differ. One session's number should never be read as a trend on its own.

The June 2026 format change

The June 2026 format change replaced a 200-mark multiple-choice test taken at home under remote supervision with a 400-mark, centre-based test. That is why figures before and after June 2026 are not like-for-like. The new test has four papers of 100 marks each, three answered in writing and one on an OMR sheet, per ICSI's announcement on the restructured CSEET and our syllabus page.

Written papers reward practised answer-writing, and a habit of picking options does not carry over. That is our reading of the change, not an ICSI finding.

What the pass percentage does not tell you

A CSEET pass percentage shows the share of candidates who passed a sitting. It does not show how many sat it, how close the failures were or how any single paper went. ICSI's June 2026 release gives the percentage without a candidate count, so 67.59% could describe a large pool or a small one.

The pass rule is applied to one sitting, and ICSI's announcement says there is no provision for exemption or carry-forward of marks. If you clear three papers but score below 40 in the fourth, you sit all four papers again in a later session.

If you are retaking, use your earlier mark sheet only to spot weak papers. Marks from the multiple-choice format do not predict how you will score on written papers.

Is CSEET hard? What a two-in-three pass rate means

CSEET is passable: 67.59% of candidates cleared it in June 2026, so about one in three (32.41%) did not.

The percentage averages every candidate, including those who prepared little. For someone who prepares all four papers, the risk sits mainly in one weak paper, as the passing marks section above shows. Written papers also add a skill that multiple-choice testing did not.

If you are still choosing a route after Class 12, see courses after 12th commerce and our CA vs CS comparison. Once CSEET is cleared, the next stage, the Company Secretary Executive programme, is covered in our CS Executive results guide.

How to beat the average

To beat the average, treat each paper as its own target: score 40 or more in all four, then build a cushion above 200 in total. This is our recommendation, built on the pass rule above.

  • Find your weakest paper first. Sit a timed mock of each paper and mark it with the three tests above. Give the next week's study time to the paper closest to 40, because that paper decides whether you pass.
  • Practise the three written papers on paper, in full time. Writing answers against a clock is the new skill, and reading notes does not replace it.
  • Take the OMR paper as a separate mock on an OMR-style answer sheet, so shading answers is not new on exam day.
  • Aim for 55 or more in every paper. That is 15 marks above the paper minimum and gives 220 in total.
  • Revise on a schedule. In the final weeks, alternate full mocks with a review of every lost mark. Our 10-week CSEET study plan and CSEET topper strategies lay out the weeks.

ICSI provides its own study material for CSEET, and coaching is optional support. In our CSEET classes we cover all four papers, with answer-writing practice and mock tests, and we help with doubt clearing and study planning.

iProledge's own CSEET results (separate from ICSI's)

iProledge states a success rate of over 95% across the last three years for its CSEET and CMA Foundation students. This is our own figure for iProledge students only, not for all CSEET candidates, and it is not an ICSI-published or audited number. ICSI publishes no pass rates by coaching provider, so there is no official figure to set it against.

Frequently asked questions

The CSEET pass percentage for June 2026 was 67.59%. ICSI declared the results on 15 July 2026, according to TaxGuru's copy of its release. It was the first session in the centre-based format, so earlier figures are not like-for-like.
ICSI has not yet published it. The October session ran from 1 to 6 October 2026. ICSI's schedule says October-session results are declared by the last week of November at the latest, and mid-November is Careers360's estimate. The pass percentage is published with the results.
You need at least 40 marks out of 100 in each of the four papers and at least 200 out of 400 in aggregate, in the same sitting. A total of 200 or more does not help if any single paper is below 40.
No. The pass rule applies to one sitting and ICSI provides for no exemption or carry-forward of marks, so if you score below 40 in one paper you sit all four again in a later session.
ICSI's June 2026 result release gives the pass percentage but no candidate count, so we cannot give a reliable number of candidates. Treat any head-count quoted elsewhere as unconfirmed until ICSI publishes one.
No. ICSI provides its own study material, and coaching is optional support. Coaching adds structure, such as answer-writing practice and timed mock tests. Our CSEET classes include both, and a free demo class lets you judge before you pay.
