What moves the price

Entry route

₹4,000 lower

Eligible direct entry costs ₹50,000 before later training versus ₹54,000 for the first-attempt CSEET route.

Extra attempts

+₹1,500 to +₹1,800

Each added CSEET session costs ₹1,500, while each added Executive or Professional group costs ₹1,500 or ₹1,800.

Optional Executive journal

+₹500

ICSI labels the one-year Chartered Secretary Journal subscription optional, even though it appears in the displayed Executive total.

Late forms and changes

+₹250

Late Executive or Professional exam forms cost ₹250, and each permitted centre, group or medium change costs ₹250.

Legitimate ways to pay less

  1. 1.Check the exact ICSI concession category before registration, because concessions differ by stage and fee component.
  2. 2.Decline the ₹500 Chartered Secretary Journal if it is not wanted, because ICSI labels it optional.
  3. 3.Submit Executive and Professional exam forms by the regular deadline to avoid the ₹250 late fee.
  4. 4.Use the ICSI online classes included with CSEET registration before paying for additional entry-level support.
  5. 5.If direct-entry eligibility applies, compare its ₹5,000 exemption fee against the CSEET route before registering.

The official fee is not one payment

Company secretary course fees are paid in stages. The current institute-fee guide reports the ICSI registration and examination charges, while later training sits outside the initial CSEET-to-Professional stack.

Choose the entry route before comparing coaching

An eligible direct-entry candidate pays ₹50,000 in first-attempt ICSI registration and exam fees before later training. A student entering after 10+2 through CSEET pays ₹54,000 on the same basis. The ₹4,000 difference reflects skipping a ₹9,000 CSEET registration-plus-first-session stack while paying a ₹5,000 direct-entry exemption fee.

Two official fee paths before trainingA side-by-side comparison of first-attempt ICSI fee components for direct entry and the CSEET route.

ICSI lists graduates, post-graduates, ICAI Intermediate pass candidates, ICMAI Final pass candidates and certain integrated-programme or provisional final-year candidates among the direct-entry categories. Students planning the full timeline can also review Company Secretary career pathways.

The charges that change a budget most

A repeat CSEET session adds ₹1,500. Reappearing for an Executive group adds ₹1,500, and a Professional group adds ₹1,800. A late Executive or Professional exam form adds ₹250, as does each permitted change of centre, group or medium under the current ICSI fee schedule.

The displayed Executive totals include a ₹500 Chartered Secretary Journal subscription that ICSI labels optional. The compulsory-looking table total should therefore be checked line by line before payment.

Post-exam training is a material trade-off for anyone treating the headline range as a complete cost to membership. Students complete EDP, practical training and CLDP at the relevant stages, so those costs should be budgeted separately from CSEET, Executive and Professional registration and examination fees.

Keep coaching separate from ICSI fees

CSEET registration already includes ICSI online classes, so paid coaching is not an official entry requirement. It can still suit students who want a fixed timetable, doubt support, mock tests or revision material. It is less useful to buy a broad package before deciding whether the support is needed for CSEET, Executive or Professional. Compare the batch scope, material access, recordings and mock-test access, then consider CS coaching alternatives with live doubt support.

Frequently asked

ICSI lists CSEET registration at ₹7,500 in its 2026 fee schedule, including the Student Induction Programme and ICSI online classes. The examination fee is separate at ₹1,500 for each session a student enters, before any applicable concession.

After passing CSEET, ICSI’s displayed Executive total is ₹18,900, including a ₹500 Chartered Secretary Journal subscription that the schedule labels optional. Excluding that optional subscription, the listed registration-stage components total ₹18,400, before Executive examination fees.

Yes, ICSI lists graduates, post-graduates and several other eligible categories for direct Executive admission. Direct-entry registration costs ₹23,400 before the optional journal, because it includes a ₹5,000 CSEET-exemption fee, but it avoids the CSEET registration and exam stack.

No. The range covers first-attempt ICSI registration and examination fees before later training, with the optional Executive journal excluded. Paid coaching, travel, accommodation, repeat attempts and location-dependent CLDP costs are separate decisions that can change the eventual outlay.

ICSI publishes different concessions for CSEET registration, CSEET examination fees, Executive and Professional registration, and Executive and Professional examinations. SC/ST, persons with disabilities, specified regions, eligible armed-forces-related categories and some ICSI or MCA-linked categories have different terms, so eligibility should be confirmed before payment.
