In brief

Known ICAI registration, training and on-time exam-form charges total ₹84,500 for a Foundation-route student who takes one attempt at each level. An eligible Direct Entry student models at ₹74,000 because Foundation registration and its exam form are skipped, while one extra full attempt at every level takes the Foundation-route illustration to ₹92,000. Private coaching sits outside these official-cost scenarios.

What moves the price

Eligible Direct Entry

-₹10,500

Skipping Foundation removes the ₹9,000 registration and ₹1,500 exam-form line in the one-attempt model. Check ICAI eligibility before selecting this route.

One extra full attempt at every level

+₹7,500

A further Foundation attempt is ₹1,500, Intermediate both groups is ₹2,700 and Final both groups is ₹3,300.

Taking groups separately

+₹300 per level

Two Intermediate single-group forms cost ₹3,000 rather than ₹2,700 together. Two Final single-group forms cost ₹3,600 rather than ₹3,300 together.

Late exam form

+₹600 per form

The September and November 2026 ICAI fee chart adds ₹600 during its listed late-filing period.

Paid local coaching

+₹15,000 to +₹25,000

The ICAI Bengaluru Branch lists ₹15,000 for a named Foundation intake and ₹25,000 for a named Intermediate both-groups intake. These are course examples, not a market range.

Legitimate ways to pay less

  1. 1.If you meet ICAI Direct Entry eligibility, confirm it before paying Foundation registration and its ₹1,500 exam form.
  2. 2.Submit every exam form before the late period to avoid the ₹600 late fee per form.
  3. 3.Use ICAI Board of Studies live virtual classes before deciding whether paid coaching is needed.
  4. 4.If you are prepared for both groups, one Intermediate or Final both-groups form saves ₹300 versus two separate single-group forms.
  5. 5.Use the Foundation study material included with the ₹9,000 registration before buying duplicate core material.

What the official-cost model includes

The ₹84,500 Foundation-route model is ₹9,000 Foundation registration, ₹1,500 Foundation exam form, ₹18,000 Intermediate registration, ₹2,700 Intermediate exam form for both groups, ₹13,500 ICITSS, ₹22,000 Final registration, ₹3,300 Final exam form for both groups and ₹14,500 AICITSS. ICAI’s CA-course FAQ sets the course and training charges, while its September and November 2026 fee chart sets the Indian-centre exam-form fees.

An eligible Direct Entry student skips the ₹9,000 Foundation registration and ₹1,500 Foundation exam form, producing the ₹74,000 illustration. Commerce graduates or postgraduates need at least 55%, non-Commerce graduates or postgraduates need at least 60%, and ICSI or ICMAI Intermediate-pass candidates can use Direct Entry.

Three route-and-attempt scenarios

The figures below use Indian-centre, on-time forms and both groups where applicable. They exclude private coaching, travel and optional purchases.

Official route scenariosThree parallel cards show ₹74,000 for eligible Direct Entry, ₹84,500 for one-attempt Foundation route and ₹92,000 after one extra full attempt at every level.

Coaching is a separate buying decision

ICAI’s Board of Studies offers free live virtual classes for Foundation, Intermediate and Final students. Paid coaching can still suit students who want a fixed timetable, marked mocks or live doubt support, but it is not a substitute for budgeting the ICAI charges first. The ICAI Bengaluru Branch currently lists a named January 2027 Foundation intake at ₹15,000 and a May 2027 Intermediate both-groups intake at ₹25,000, which are local course examples rather than a national market average. Compare CA coaching support by stage before paying for a package.

Paid coaching is not a good fit for every student. Students who can follow ICAI material and free classes consistently may prefer to reserve money for exam forms, while students who need accountability should confirm the exact subjects, recordings, mock marking and access period in writing. iProledge's CA coaching comparison outlines the scope questions to ask, and iProledge fees is the right next stop for a batch-specific discussion.

Costs that move the budget

The safest way to reduce cost is to choose an eligible route before paying, file exam forms on time and compare full coaching scope rather than a headline tuition figure.

Frequently asked

A Foundation-route illustration is ₹84,500 in known ICAI registration, mandatory-training and one-attempt exam-form charges at Indian centres. It assumes on-time forms and both groups for Intermediate and Final, and excludes private coaching, travel and optional purchases.

Yes. An eligible Direct Entry student skips the ₹9,000 Foundation registration and ₹1,500 Foundation exam form, so the same one-attempt official-cost illustration is ₹74,000. ICAI limits Direct Entry to qualifying graduates, postgraduates and specified ICSI or ICMAI candidates.

For Indian centres in the 2026 ICAI fee chart, another Foundation attempt costs ₹1,500, another Intermediate both-groups attempt costs ₹2,700 and another Final both-groups attempt costs ₹3,300. Filing during the listed late period adds ₹600 to each exam form.

No. ICAI’s Board of Studies provides free live virtual classes for Foundation, Intermediate and Final students. Paid coaching may help with timetable structure, marked mocks or doubt support, but buyers should treat it as a separate decision and confirm the package scope before paying.
